Floods in Qld -2008
Although south-east Queensland experienced drought in 2007, central and nothern Queensland experienced floods in 2008. Mackay was declared a disaster area.
Floods
Australia is definitely the land of "droughts and flooding rains". While south-east Queensland experienced extensive drought, central and northern Queensland encountered flooding. Mackay was declared a disaster area. Emerald, Rockhampton, Mackay, Bowen, Townsvill and Cairns were flooded. Although Brisbane city had plenty of rain, Wivenhoe Dam is still not full.
